Requirements

Here’s a breakdown of everything you need:

  • Visitor Visa
  • Application Form (BI84) fully completed in black ink only
  • Two identical passport size (35mm width x45mm heigth) photographs on white background showing the complete face.
  • A valid passport (validity of at least 30 days after the intended stay)
  • 2 Copies of New & 1 copy of old passport data page as well as copies of existing visa and previously issued visas.
  • Self-introduction letter with physical address and phone number.
  • Introduction/Recommendation letter from an Employer, where applicable
  • Verifiable hotel reservation/bookings which must be done directly with the hotels and not through third parties, (e.g. booking .com; hotel .com, HRS, etc).
  • Copy of international travelling certificate (yellow fever card) duly and fully completed by a health practitioner. THE ONLY YELLOW FEVER CARDS (INTERNATIONAL TRAVELLING CERTIFICATE) ACCEPTABLE WILL BE THOSE ISSUED BY PORT HEALTH.
  • Proof of financial status (three months recent bank statement) or financial support letter from employer with three months bank statement) in a case where the Employer is sponsoring the trip. In the event the applicant is travelling on a private capacity, the bank statement submitted should reflect the salary deposited into the applicant’s bank statement. Sponsored trips should always have a sponsorship letter with full details of the sponsor and contact details; as well as a copy of National ID/passport data page. Certain Corporate Entities are exempted from this requirement. In the case of a company account, the bank reference letter should state the sole signatory to the account. (Original, Stamped & Signed by the bank authority) 
  • Applicant travelling on an official business should, in addition to the above requirements, attach a letter of invitation/confirmation of training/conference, etc. from a South African Company with full details of the Company’s Authorized representative; physical address and phone numbers (landline number compulsory). All verifiable bookings (accommodation as well as flight) are required and should be submitted together with the application.
  • Copy of Birth Certificate must be certified by Notary public for Minors/Children travelling with parents. Where applicable, a consent letter/s with copy/ies of parent/s national identification card/passport data page of parent who is not applying with the Minor (s) should be attached to the application. 
  • Copy of Marriage or Death certificate (where applicable) must be certified by Notary public.
  • Non Refundable Visa Fee of N7, 071 excluding service fee.
  • Verifiable Flight Booking.IN CASE WHERE AN APPLICANT IS VISITING A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER THE FOLLOWING MUST BE INCLUDED.
  • Letter of invitation from a person living in South Africa with physical address and phone number.
  • Proof of his/her residence in South Africa in the form of a utility bill (Water and Electricity bills).
  • Certified copies of the host/invitee’s identity document, if he/she is a Foreign National in South Africa, copy of the passport and the Permit legalizing him/her to stay in the Republic MUST be attached.
  • Three months Bank Statement(signed and Stamped by the Bank) of the host/invitee

    FOR APPLICANTS GOING TO RECEIVE MEDICAL TREATMENT OF LESS THAN 90 DAYS
  • Referral letter from a Nigerian Doctor specifying the nature of health problem and why referral is sought.
  • A letter from the applicant’s registered medical practitioners or medical institution within the Republic
  • confirming:
     a. That space is available at the medical institution; b. The estimated costs of the treatment; c. Whether or not the disease or ailment is treatable or curable; d. The treatment schedule; and e. The period of intended treatment in the Republic
  • The details of, and confirmation by, the person or institution responsible for the medical expenses and hospital fees. In case where the applicant’s medical scheme or employer is not liable for expenses incurred, proof of financial means to cover medical costs shall be submitted.
